Donations
Small amounts of money go a long way in Africa and no gift is too small. There are many ways you can make a donation today or in the future. You can choose to make monthly or yearly donations by cheque, or by credit card through www.canadahelps.org.
You can direct your donation to a specific project or make a general donation to be used where it is most needed. You will find many practical suggestions on the Projects page.
Seasonal Celebrations and Holiday Giving
You can give a very unique gift that will make a lasting difference in someone’s life. For example, help send a girl to school for a year for $50.00; buy two hens and a rooster for $30.00, or a chicken for $10.00, or a goat for $40.00 for a woman’s small business; or buy a book for $25.00 for the community library. Please fill out this form and return it to us with your donation. We will send you a special gift card, describing your gift, to send to the recipient.
Donations for Special Occasions
You can make a donation to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, memorial or other event. Please fill out this form and return it to us with your donation. TEMBO will send a card to the recipient acknowledging your generous donation.
Planned Giving – Leaving a Legacy
Planned Giving is another option you may choose. Choosing this allows you to plan today to make a difference in the lives of people who follow you. It is something anyone can do. You can take steps today to ensure that Project TEMBO continues to provide education for girls and economic empowerment for women in Tanzania in the future.
There are many ways you can do this. Some ways are by:
Bequest
Make a gift of cash or property by designating Project TEMBO in your will.
Life Insurance
You can name Project TEMBO as a beneficiary in your Will.
Gifts of Stock
As of 2006, the Federal Government has allowed donations of publicly traded securities given to charities, like Project TEMBO, to be completely free of capital gains taxes. If you are interested in including Project TEMBO in your Planned Giving, you may want to consult a professional who can guide you through this process. A lawyer can advise you about leaving money in your will; a financial or estate planner can inform you about leaving shares; and an insurance broker can help with leaving a life insurance gift.
